Colerain Twp. – William H. Rolfert, Jr. was born on July 25, 1941. He was born and lived all his life in Cincinnati, Ohio. He attended Colerain Elementary, Colerain Middle School, and Colerain High School (graduating in 1960). He played football and really liked shop where he enjoyed working with wood. After graduation from high school, he joined the Army as a Communications Specialist and was stationed in Japan for 3 years.  He was a Vietnam War Army veteran as well. He returned home in 1965. He met and married Patricia Ann Keller on July 16, 1966. They have been married for 55 years (56 on July 16, 2022). 

     Bill was employed at Cincinnati Bell as a switchman where he worked for 30 years. His last job was at Hanover Winery where he mowed and worked in the vineyard. He loved being outdoors and took much pride in making the grounds and the vineyard look the best.

     Bill was a long-time member of the Southern Ohio Dog & Game Association. He enjoyed the outdoors and was so happy being out in nature. He was a member of Oak Hills Kiwanis where he also was the President. He was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Communication Workers of America, International Brotherhood of Teamsters, National Rifle Association of America, and Whitetails Unlimited.  Bill participated in the Colerain Township Citizens Fire Academy.

     Bill enjoyed spending time with family & friends. His family was very important to him and he helped them in any way they needed. He enjoyed travelling and went on many trips. Many trips were an “adventure” and lots of memories were made. One of his favorite places was the Smoky Mountains. He went on lots of trips with his granddaughters and made lots of special memories.

     Bill did not know any strangers. Everyone he met was a “friend”. He helped anyone who needed help. He enjoyed talking to everyone and made friends everywhere he went. He was a special person who truly enjoyed talking to and getting to know people.

     Bill leaves his wife, Patricia Ann “Patti” Keller Rolfert, of 55 years; son, Brent William (Becky) Rolfert; daughter, Tricia Allene (Mike) Rolfert Redding; granddaughters, Heather Ann Rolfert and Amanda Nicole Finke; sister, Janet “Missy” (Roger) Lang; brother, the late Jim A. (Patricia L.) Rolfert who passed away 10 years ago; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and many special friends (like Patricia Reed).

     Bill was an honest, hard-working man. He was dependable and always gave more than 100 percent. He always had energy and was kind to all. He had the ability to make everyone happy.

     Bill was a great man. His “special” hugs and smile will forever be remembered. He touched the lives of all he knew.

     Bill was a former member of Groesbeck United Methodist Church and of Christ, the Prince of Peace United Methodist Church. He was a current member of Whitewater Crossing Christian Church (where he was baptized).

     Visitation will be held on Monday, July 11th from 5 to 8 PM at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mt. Healthy, OH 45231. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12th at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Military Honors and the interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
