Shannon Hoenig, 65, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 7, 2021, in the comfort of her home in Erlanger.

Shannon lived a life dedicated to others by the endless love and support shown to her family, friends and throughout her career in the service industry. Shannon was known for her quick wit, big smile and positive attitude. Her kind heart, loyalty and friendship to others will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Shannon believed family was defined equally by love and bloodline. As such, she leaves behind many family members and friends who loved her in return.

Shannon was preceded in death by her parents James and Bessie Spears, her sister Linda Blice, nephew Rob Rackley, niece Sandy Alexander and her gran, Sally Ann Hoenig.

She is survived by her sister Julie Alexander, her brother Robert Stoehr, her niece Chastity Livers, nephews; Christopher (Tava) Rackley, Michael (Laurel) Rackley, Raymond Blice, Alex Stoehr, Steve (Andrea) Alexander and Jim (Debbie) Alexander, several great nieces and nephews and special friends; David Varney and Paula Wigger.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021, at the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, with Pastor James Love, Jr. officiating, with interment to follow. Friends may call Saturday from 11:00 AM until the time of the services. Please follow the blue line when entering the cemetery. Masks and social distancing required. Shannon was great asset for ky speedway.i got to know her from there bout 20 years ago.we would talk often.jokingly i called her gf and she called me bf.I was heartbroken when MARK SIMENDINGER told me about her.I still am.SHE WAS A GREAT PERSON AND FRIEND

Shannon was a dear friend and mentor to many of us. We will always think about her sense of humor and great work ethic when we remember her and the fun times we had with her.

You were one of the best and dearest friends I’ve ever had. I’ll miss you more than words can describe. I’ll miss our smoke breaks, our long talks on the phone, our shopping trips, your calming voice that always backed me off the cliff, your crazy humor that always made me smile, your stubbornness, your strength, you always having my back, our dreams of designing spaces, your ashes on your shirt, your cat shoes, the water bottle you kept for me in the fridge, your meatloaf sandwiches, the way you answered the phone with some crazy twisted storyline…I’ll miss it all…but mostly, I’ll miss your love.

Shannon was so much fun to work with at Kentucky Speedway. She could make you laugh on your toughest days and keep you on your toes with her quick wit. She welcomed me into the “cat lovers” family, and we loved sharing stories about our fur babies. I’m surely going to miss her!

Shannon was a great friend. I have enjoyed Shannon’s loyalty, wit and compassion for many years and will miss her. Everyone who met Shannon became instantly attracted by her wit, infectious smile and personality.

Shannon was truly an incredible friend and mentor. I am incredibly blessed to have spent the summer with her interning at the Kentucky Speedway. She has positively influenced so many people and is now an angel to us all.

  I was so saddened to hear of Shannon’s illness, now passing. I had the privilege of being her primary care physician for many years. She made me work for my money sometimes… but I loved seeing her!! My condolences to her family

Deepest Sympathy. I enjoyed every minute I worked with Shannon at Kentucky Speedway. She was fun, happy and such a wonderful person. She will be missed.
