Kay Salazar Hatfield June 21, 1940 - February 6, 2021

Mrs. Kay Salazar Hatfield, age 80, passed away on February 6, 2021, with her family by her side.

Kay was born in Ransom, KY to McKinley and Tiny Smith. Kay married John Hatfield in Lexington, KY.  Kay worked at Fazio’s Grocery, in the meat department. She owned and operated her own beauty salon in Mt. Healthy and later in life worked at Lexington Clinic in the telecommunications department.  She was a loving wife, sister, mother, and grandmother.  Family was the center of her life.  She always put her children and grandchildren first.  She will be dearly missed.

Kay is survived by her loving spouse of 38 years, John B. Hatfield, daughter, Kathy Salazar (Tim) Legel, son, Mark Salazar, grandchildren; Katie Ashland of Riverside, CA and Kimberly Legel  and sister, Gloria Offutt.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Arley M. Smith, Leetta Smith, Maxine Belmont, Etta Ruhl and James Harvey Smith.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Kay Hatfield will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 12:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, 45231. Once on cemetery grounds follow the blue line to the Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, where the  procession will begin from.  Memorial donations can be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital at https://www.stjude.org/donate/.  Online condolences can be left at www.AMGFuneralHome.com.
