Arthur Thomas Woods
Arthur Thomas Woods, age 77, passed away on April 30, 2021.
Art was born to the late Walter and Grace (née Howard) Woods. The youngest of three children, he was a dear brother to his late siblings; Wally Woods and Sally Heaton. He married the love of his life, Diane Woods (née Lyon), with whom he shared many adventures before she preceded him in death in 2006.
Art was a loving father to his daughters and sons-in-law; Michon Woods (Eric Redder), Jenea Woods (Michael Elsass), Angie Woods (Andrew Pardi), Carrie Woods (Jeremy Harris) and Steffany (Matthew) Hughes. He was a devoted grandfather to his surviving grandchildren; Maxwell (Danielle) Redder, Mitchel Elsass, Broderick Harris, Josephine Elsass, Meredith Harris, Nathaniel Hughes, Theodore Harris, Wyatt Hughes and his late grandson, Myles Redder. He was an adoring great-grandfather to Lily Redder. They, as well as his extended relatives and many friends, are deeply saddened by his loss and will miss him greatly.
Art was a proud Navy veteran and graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He was dedicated to his family, enjoying nothing more than a full house with his daughters, their husbands and his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his generosity and humor, his love of travel, sailing and golf, and endless tinkering in his garage.
Visitation will be held Friday, 14th of May 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231. Once on the cemetery grounds, follow the blue line to the funeral home. This is a masked event.
Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 AM and will be limited to family. A Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
Art will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be directed to Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/cincinnati/donate or Camp Kesem at https://donate.kesem.org/team/305744.

May 14, 2021 at 12:14 pmWe will miss you. I was sitting in the living room with the boys and Troy and we were telling old stories. Troy told the story of Art and Di dressing up and coming to our party for Halloween. The entire time not talking to anyone.Troy finally was going to confront the masked strangers who we thought were chasing our party and here it was Art and Di. We all laughed. I will miss waiving often at the mailbox to each other or taking out the garbage, his talks of appreciation after I tried to remove snow from his driveway( sad little snow blower of mine), his sitting not he back porch listening to the Reds games, Looking over and seeing his light on in his office- thinking now why is Art up so late, his joking about who is that blonde lady- my reply – crazy Krista! He was a father figure to me. He made me want to be a successful woman in a time that woman were looked at as wives and mothers only. ( still very admirable though) He made me think about saving money and having a bank account. He knew we could go to college and be successful. He once told me I was smarter than I thought I was. He was my neighbor, my friend and my other pops. I will forever be grateful. I am so glad he is with his mom what a artistic joy she was, Wally, Sally, Uncle Dan, Gma Lyon and many more… most importantly Lady Di….his true love.
