Wanda was born on June 5, 1932 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to parents Silas and Myrtie Jones. She grew up with older sister Flonnie and older brothers Robert, Laramie and Woodrow. She had two baby sisters, Willie Jean and Betty Lou. After graduation from Stearns High School, her family moved to Cincinnati. Wanda married Harold D Lewis, who grew up in Cooperative, Kentucky and served in WWII and Korea. Their daughter, Deborah Ann was born several years later.
Wanda retired after years of service to University Hospital in Human Resources and Financial Services. Wanda and Harold enjoyed many years of a happy retirement by taking weekly trips to the casinos in Indiana and annual trips to Seattle to visit their daughter. Wanda nursed Harold through several major surgeries and after his death she nursed her sister Betty after surgery.
She was loved by many nieces and nephews on both sides of the family, friends, their families and co-workers.
Wanda passed peacefully in Hospice after visiting with two close friends.
A visitation will be held for Wanda on Friday, May 27 at 10 am at Paul R. Young Funeral Home on Hamilton Avenue in Cincinnati. A short funeral service will be held at 10:30 am. A Luncheon Reception will follow at the Paul R. Young Funeral Home. All are welcome to join the family at the Reception.
