Linzy Shockley Jr. November 11, 1953 - June 20, 2022

Oscar Linzy Shockley Jr.

Mr. Oscar Linzy Shockley Jr., age 68, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2022, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.

Linzy was born in Cincinnati, OH to Oscar Linzy Shockley Sr. and Alma (nee Jackson) Shockley. Linzy grew up in Cumminsville. He married Julie Stricker of Cincinnati, Ohio on June 15, 1991.

Linzy went to college for respiratory therapy and worked for Local 8 as an asbestos insulator for many years. He later worked for a Medical Research Laboratories and ended his career at Summit Behavioral Health. He was a member of Lifespring Christian Church and spent his Sunday’s volunteering and preaching at local nursing homes. His smile lit up a room and his booming voice will be missed at our church.

Linzy is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Julie Shockley, children, Avery Shockley and Janay Shockley, sister, Flora Shockley, brother-in-law, John (Sally) Stricker, sister’s-in-law, MaryCay Crowe and Carol (Ed) Alsentzer, and many extended relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25th, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Lifespring Christian Church, 1373 Galbraith Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231.

Services for Mr. Linzy Shockley will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 12:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be directed to City Gospel Mission, 1805 Dalton Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45214.

Linzy would want you to “have a blessed day.”
