Jerry Kahn, of Ormond Beach, Florida, left this world to be with his Lord on Friday, June 17, 2022. He was dearly loved and cared for by his daughter, Carrie Kahn Courtney and her husband, Al Courtney. At the time of his death, he was 84 years old. Jerry passed at his home of 38 years, which he shared for many of those years with his loving family. Jerry was the son of Gladys Fisher and Fred Kahn, and was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on February 23, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents and devoted wife of 53 years, Janet Lou Kahn. He is survived by his beloved and adored daughter, Carrie Kahn Courtney and his dutiful and caring son-in-law, Stanley Alton Courtney, Jr. He is also survived by his brother, Irv Kahn and niece, Phyllis Kahn. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. Jerry spent his childhood and the first 46 years of his life in Cincinnati, Ohio. While residing there he attended and was a graduate of Walnut Hills High School. Jerry began working at young age and developed skills that instilled in him a sense of determination and accomplishment. He selflessly chose to serve his country by joining the U.S. Army. In 1984, Jerry moved his family to Ormond Beach, Florida where he spent the remainder of his life. Jerry’s lifelong career was being a successful sales representative. During this time, he received many accolades, achievements, and awards for his salesmanship. After retiring, he began another career, as Mr. Tic Tok, selling watches. Jerry was honored to be the provider for his family. He was an avid tennis player who was always ready for a match. Jerry enjoyed traveling, meeting new people, dining out with friends and family, but most importantly he enjoyed being with his baby luv, Carrie. Jerry had an incredible sense of humor and could make you laugh at any given moment. He could also make you feel like you were someone worthy of his mentorship. In his love to provide for his family, he made sure to share with them, and anyone who would listen, his tips and advice on how to be successful. He cared for numerous people and to show his affection in a unique manner, you would be honored by receiving a list of his “Profoundities”, which were his personalized life lessons. To quote one of his many Profoundities and one of which he embodied daily: “Don’t worry about what you don’t have … appreciate and enjoy what you do have.” He was eternally grateful to everyone who took the time to visit him, call him, or just think of him after the passing of his wife, especially his beloved daughter and son-in-law.
