Obituary via Paul Young Funeral Home

Charles E. Linkenhoker passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the age of 98.  Charlie was the devoted husband of Grace Linkenhoker (deceased, Jan 31, 2021) for over 68 years.  The deep bond of their marriage was an inspiration to all around them.  He was the beloved father of Carol A. Hayward (Don) and Joan M. Lewis (Tristan), the loving grandfather of Matthew Huelsman (Amber Bremer), Brynley Lewis, and Brendan Lewis, and the proud great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Benjamin, Karina, Quentin, and Robert.  Charlie was preceded in death by his parents, Charleton and Mamie Linkenhoker (nee Merritt) and his sisters, Elizabeth Iverson (Allen) and Virginia Corbett (Melvin).  Charlie was a plainspoken man who worked with his hands his whole life, while leading, teaching and encouraging others along the way.  He was, unfailingly, the very definition of a gentleman.  He greeted everyone with a smile, treated everyone with respect, and usually had a twinkle in his eye and a joke at hand.  He was honest beyond expectation, he was kind, and he brightened every room he entered. He will be missed more than words can say.

The visitation will be at Paul R. Young Funeral Home (Mt. Healthy) on Saturday, March 26 at 10:00 a.m. until the time of Masonic Service at 10:45 a. m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions, if desired, can be made to either The Freestore Foodbank of Cincinnati or Queen City Hospice.
