Roy W. Meier Sr.
July 24, 1924 – April 4, 2020
Roy “Whitey” William Meier, Sr., age 95, passed away on April 4, 2020, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Whitey is survived by his Daughter, Kim Meyers, of Eugene, OR, and his two sons, Dan Meier and Roy Meier, Jr., of Cincinnati, OH, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara L. (Bressler) Meier, with whom he spent 55 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2006, as well as his sister, Ruth M. Dinwiddie (2014), and brother, Walter H. Meier (2008).
Whitey was born on July 24, 1924 in Cincinnati, OH, to parents Walter and Flora (Koch) Meier. He graduated from Western Hills High School in 1942. Whitey had a long career as a successful businessman, self-employed plumber and home-builder.
Whitey was great family man, a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He married Barbara in 1948 and the couple had 3 children together. Whitey was a social man who enjoyed spending time with friends and family. His family and friends will always remember him as a down to earth person, always willing to help, his witty sense of humor, and his calm demeanor.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Arlington Memorial Gardens, 2145 Compton Road, Mt. Healthy on Saturday, July 25 at 11 AM. Family and friends are invited to assemble at the Family Gathering Space by 10:45 AM for a procession to the graveside. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association 5211 Madison Rd., Cincinnati, Ohio 45227.
