Muriel Ann Foster
1940 – 2020
Muriel Foster (nee Eckstein), loving wife of Dennis Foster for 31 years. Cherished mother of Julie (Rick) Matson and Jennifer (Steve) Weisbrod. Beloved stepmother of Daric (Stephanie) Foster. Devoted grandmother of Katie and Carley Matson, Ben Naylor, and Sophia and Chloe Foster. Dear sister of Bruce (Sylvia) Eckstein and Pat (Robert) Eyer. Passed Feb. 19, 2020, age 79.
Among Muriel’s passions were her faith, family, music, theater, nature, athletics and photography. She was Director of Education in the Milford United Methodist Church. She was most recently active in the Miamiville United Methodist Church.
She performed her own songs at retreats and workshops. She played trumpet in the Mason Community Band. She was a member of the Loveland Stage Company where she directed, acted, worked back stage in numerous productions. She wrote critiques of productions throughout the Cincinnati area as a judge for the Association of Community Theatre of Greater Cincinnati. She worked with the League of Women Voters to get portions of the Little Miami designated as Little Miami National Wild and Scenic River. She represented the Cincinnati Track Club as a torch bearer at the 1980 Lake Placid Olympics. In her 60’s she was a leading race walker in the state of Ohio. She wrote and produced award winning video programs. Her photographs are in public buildings and private collections throughout the country. She taught fine art photography at UC and a master class at her studio in Loveland.
A gathering of friends will be held on Wednesday Feb. 26, from 10:00 AM until time of the memorial service at 11:AM at Mihovk – Rosenacker Funeral Home 10211 Plainfield Rd. Evendale.
