Joseph Michael Arrequin
Joseph Michael Arrequin passed away peacefully at his home in Bright, Indiana Thursday February 25, 2021, at the age of 73, surrounded by family. Born July 6, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois, to Dorothy Tobias and Michael Hammerman.
Preceded in death by Mother Frances Zapata and grandmother Petronila Zapata, Dorothy Tobias and Michael Hammerman.
Mike is survived by his wife of 52 years Vickie Arrequin (Wilson), his children Tina Hatfield, Mike (Heather) Arrequin, Teela (Donald) Bishop, Tony(Cyndi) Arrequin, Mario Arrequin, Timmy (Dana) Arrequin; his grandchildren, Michelle Arrequin, Michael Hill Jr., Ashley Hill, Michael Arrequin III, Jacob Arrequin, Dustin Arrequin, Nicholas Baker-Arrequin, Anthony Baker, Jennifer Bishop, Tasha Bice, Donald Bishop Jr., Teana Dawson, Rick Hogle, Erin Hopster, Kristian Arrequin, DeAngel Arrequin, Courtney Arrequin, Mario Arrequin Jr., Maria Arrequin, Karley Krueger, Deairra Coffey, Jaelyn Arrequin, and 33 great grandchildren, Brother Art (Jene) Vega, Sister Jessie (Pete) Sandoval, Brother Carl Malino, and Sister Sandy Malino. Mike was a proud father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mike is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mike proudly served his country as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army. He was employed as a truck driver for 30 + years, before retiring. Before Mikes passing, he was a 30+ member of the Teamsters Local 100. He also owned/operated Vickie’s Mattresses in Northside for many years. Mike’s passion was spending time with his family and friends and running his business. He also enjoyed traveling to Chicago and Texas to visit with his family and friends, who held a very special place in his heart. He will be greatly missed by all.
The family would like to give a very special thanks to Jennifer and Andrea of Loving Hearts Hospice, who were there at the end and helped the family through this most difficult time.
Visitation will be 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Friday March 5, 2021 at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 45231. Once on the cemetery grounds, follow the blue line. Masks Required. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday March 6, 2021, with burial immediately following in the Garden of Roses.
