Jerry W. Slusher
Mr. Jerry Slusher, age 77, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2021, while holding hands with his wife and son, after a courageous battle with Covid. Jerry’s wish for everyone is to please get vaccinated against Covid-19.
Jerry was born in Balkan, KY to John and Bobbie Slusher. Jerry married Sue McLean on April 30, 1966, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He served his country as part of the United States Army during Vietnam. Jerry worked as the director of service for Hassan Motors and Kerry Automotive until his retirement in 2012. He was a member of White Oak Christian Church.
Jerry coached soccer for many years, and had the pleasure of coaching his son, Christopher. He was an avid golfer and tennis player. When not on the greens or the court, Jerry could be found watching all sports on television, and placing winning bets with his friends. Jerry touched many lives through his time coaching, and his career. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sue Slusher, son, Christopher (Kelley) Slusher, grandson, Dalton Slusher, granddaughter, Addison Slusher, brother, Bill “Creed” (Patsy) Slusher, Gloria Ann (Joe) Barker, Brenda Potinsky, brother, Rick (Patty)Slusher, and sister-in-law, Patty (Stan) Schwieterman, many loving nieces and nephews, and many extended relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Bobbie Slusher, sister, Dolly Smith, and brother-in-law, Jerry Potinsky.
Visitation will be held Saturday, 18th of December, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, when the services will begin, at White Oak Christian Church, 3675 Blue Rock Rd, 45247. Masks recommended. Jerry will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Gardens.
