Jean Ellen Ward, 77, of Cincinnati, Ohio, went to be with the Lord, September 2, 2020 after a fall in her classroom. She was born in western Pennsylvania. Later she and her family lived in Coulterville, Illinois, where she attended elementary and secondary school. She graduated from Covenant College, on Lookout Mountain, Georgia, in 1966 majoring in music. She also earned a Master of Elementary Education from University of Arkansas in 1975.
She dedicated her life to serving her Savior by teaching in Christian elementary schools, first in Huntsville, Alabama, then in Memphis, Tennessee, and then for 33 years at Central Baptist Academy in Cincinnati, Ohio. She loved playing the piano, singing and teaching music. She also delighted in regularly playing piano or organ for the Central Baptist Church worship services where she is a member. She sought to be a blessing to others for Christ’s sake.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Samuel and Rosalie Ward and her brother, Timothy Ward. She is survived by four brothers and their wives, children and grandchildren: brother Keith and Betty Ward, brother Mark and Rosalie Ward, brother Paul and Lois Ward and brother James and Beth Ward. She will be missed also by her friends and neighbors, the Central Baptist Academy family, and her church family at Central Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held at Central Baptist Church 7645 Winton Rd., Cincinnati (45224) on Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9 AM – 11 AM. Private Funeral Service will be held at the church at 11 AM for family and church members only. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Central Baptist Church or Central Baptist Academy.

December 28, 2020 at 1:39 pmMiss Ward was an amazing person and teacher. My apologies that our family just found out a couple of days ago from an old student that this had happen. I was just looking through my cellular phone and came upon the pictures of her housewarming over a friend’s house.
We are happy to know that she is now with the Lord and at peace. We will miss her along with Central Baptist Academy.
