Janice (Jan) Marie Hamberg
Janice (Jan) Marie Hamberg (nee Vogelsang) lost her three-year battle with cancer on June 1st. After her 2018 diagnosis, she lived with determination and vigor by being the caring and playful Memaw to Gracie, a loving and supportive Mom to Daniel J. Hamberg and Sarah (Brian) Chisom, and a solid and steadfast partner to her loving husband of 42 years, John M. Hamberg. She supported and backed three family moves to Air Force Bases during his military career (Hickam, K.I. Sawyer, and Minot). Jan planted flowers and vegetables in her backyard garden just 2 weeks ago, was still devouring books, and worked from home for The Miller-Valentine Group as their payroll controller in between chemo appointments. She was the devoted and protective daughter of Richard and the late JoAnn Vogelsang, sister to Judi, Rick (Margie) and the late Dave Vogelsang. She was Aunt to Adam, Phillip, Jackie, Michael, Tony, Alex, Amanda, Kara, and the late Amber. Fun sister-in-law to Pam and Mike Collins, Mike Hamberg, JoAnn Hamberg and Jim Anness, Nancy and Tom Morris, and Margie Vogelsang. She had a great relationship with Miller[1]Valentine co-workers: Janie Sullivan, Andrea Jones, Katie Gilliam and others.
The family wishes to thank Doctor Samer Alsidawi and Oncology Nurse Jennifer Mundstock and the many others who helped Jan during her fight. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jan’s name to either The Hamilton County Public Library Foundation, 800 Vine Street, Cinti 45202 or to The Amber Collins James Nursing Scholarship, UC Blue Ash, 9555 Plainfield Road, Cinti 45236.
Visitation Tuesday, June 8th from 5-7 with service to follow at The Arlington Gardens Memorial Funeral Home, 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (follow the blue road line to the building)

June 8, 2021 at 4:19 pmJohn & family, We are saddened to know that Jan lost her battle with cancer. She dealt with much adversity and continued to put her family first. Her ability to draw strength from John, and the support he gave to her allowed her to face life head on. She has inspired all of us.

June 3, 2021 at 12:46 pmJohn,
You and your family are in our prayers. While I struggle to find words to say, know that Jan has WON her battle. May heavens perpetual light shine on her forever!!!
The strife is o’er, the battle is done ; The victory of life is won ; The song of triumph has begun: Alleluia!
The powers of death have done their worst, But Christ their legions hath dispersed: Let shouts of holy joy outburst, Alleluia!
The three sad days have quickly sped; He rises glorious from the dead: All glory to our risen King!!. Alleluia!
He closed the yawning gates of Hell; The bars from Heavens high portals fell; Let hymns of praise his triumphs tell. Alleluia!!
Lord, by the stripes which wounded thee, From death’s dread sting thy servants free, That we may live and sing to thee. Alleluia!
May God bless you and your family.
Love Mark & Tina
