On October 11th, 2019, our loving mother and grandmother, Dixie Roma Wood, was called home to be with her husband once again. She is survived by her three sons; David and his wife Christine and their children Michael, Alex, Daniel, and Andrew; Christopher and his wife Angel, and their children Noah, Jonah, and Heaven; Timothy and his wife Erin, and their children Christopher and TJ. She is also survived by her beloved sister Sharon and her husband Franklin , as well as many nieces and nephews.
It can be said without reservation she had a ready smile and open heart for all, making any who met her feel like part of her family. Her kindness and hospitality extended not just to family but their friends as well. Her home was open to all and hosting family get-togethers was one of her most precious memories. She loved being with family on trips whether to a store or across the country, and always held the Friday night card games close to her heart. Even though she was an incredible wife, mother, and grandmother, she never once thought for a moment she had ever done enough for her boys and family. Until the very end her worries and concerns were for how her loved ones would fare after she was gone.
She will be missed with a fierce passion by all who knew her.
The family of Dixie will be receiving friends for a visitation at Lord of Life Lutheran Church (6329 Tylersville Rd, West Chester Township, OH 45069) on Saturday, October 19, 2019 from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM with a funeral service to follow beginning at 10:00 AM. A burial and graveside service will take place at Arlington Memorial Gardens immediately following.
