Caterina Caserta Mazzei
Caterina Caserta Mazzei, age 89, passed away on January 19, 2022.
Caterina was born in Fuscaldo, Canzena, Italy to Matteo Caserta & Raffellea Vilardo. Her grandparents were Francesca & Giuseppe Vilardo. Her brothers were Antonio (Nino) Caserta & unnamed infant brother. Her sister Angelina Caserta.
Caterina is survived by her daughters Maria (Larry) Raffellea-Redden, Liz (Mike) Overbey, Josephine Werning, & Annette (Eric) Mazzei-Lewis-McGraw; her grandchildren Angela, Mary Catherine, Betsy Dodson, Michael Ray (Amy) Overbey, Robert (Jen) Overbey, & Rhonda (Tim) Dove; her great-grandchildren Stephanie (Jason) Branham-Rouse, Pagie Rothan, PJ Meyer, Jacquelyn , Anthony , Kaleb Dove, Ethan, Isabella, Emily Forbis, Garfield Redden, Michael Reeves, Elisabeth, Jane, Caterina, & Mary Overbey; great-great-grandchildren Abigail, Maddie, Lily, Chase, & Nathan Rouse; her cousins Giuseppe Mantuano & Michelle (Eric) Mantuano-Conrady; and tutti familia in Fuscaldo, Italia and in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, & many friends in Cincinnati. Loved and cherished by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents Matteo & Raffellea Caserta; her infant brother; her sister Angelina Caserta; her grandson Barry Joseph Werning, Jr.; her son-in-law Barry Werning, Sr.; her son-in-law Randy Lewis; and her great-great-granddaughters Aubry Lynn & Jaycie Rouse; and her aunt Caterina Mantuano.
A visitation will be held for Caterina on Thursday, 27th of January 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home (2155 Compton Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45231; follow the BLUE line; masks required). Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Church (3006 8th St, Cincinnati, OH 45205) with Father Leonard Wenke officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens at 12:00 PM in the Garden of Restoration.
Donations may be made to Holy Family Church to honor Caterina’s generous nature.
