James E. Brooker
James E. Brooker, a resident of Union Township, passed away May 31, 2020, at the age of 96. He was born in Cincinnati, son of the late Crystal and Charles Brooker. James was the beloved husband of Jacquelin Brooker (nee Day) for 74 years, loving father of Michael Brooker (Marie), Mark Brooker (Denise), Kenneth Brooker (Laurie) and the late Mary Kay Johns, devoted grandfather of Cory and Michael Brooker and Crissena Burdine and great-grandfather of Trinden and Adalyn Brooker and Lauren and Ethan Burdine, dear brother of Mary Ann Alexander and the late Raymond Brooker. Also survived by 9 step grandchildren and 26 step great-grandchildren. James was a 74 year member of the American Legion, Post 72 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines in WWII. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 6 from 10 AM until the time of his funeral service at 12 PM at E.C. Nurre Funeral Home, 177 W. Main St., Amelia. Interment to follow at Arlington Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in his name, may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org).
