Raymond “Jeep” Ash
Raymond “Jeep” Ash, age 85, passed away on September 17, 2021.
Raymond was born on March 20, 1936, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Raymond Hendricks and Ruth Ash. Raymond married Thekla Ash on October 24, 1958.
Raymond is survived by his loving wife Thekla Ash. Children; Raymond (Linda) Ash Jr. and Melinda Ash. Grandchildren; Rachel (Patrick) Lahni, Jeffery (Katie) Ash, Ryan (Angela Abigail) Ash. Great-grandchildren; Chase, Payton, Novalee, Mason, Raegan, Alex, Riley (Buggy), Avery, and Emery. Also survived by his siblings, Johnna, Mary, Martha, Leslie, and Danny and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Hendricks and Ruth Ash and siblings Gladys, David, Joseph, Kenny, and Jerry.
Raymond was very proud to have served in the Army and The Ohio National Guard, he served for a total of 20 years. He was a proud member of the Postal Service, working as a mail carrier for over 20 years. Jeep enjoyed woodworking and working around the house. Most of all Jeep enjoyed spending time with his family.
Memorial Visitation will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021, at 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Service to follow at 2:00 PM with Bishop Joseph Binzer officiating and Inurnment following services. (Follow the blue line once on cemetery grounds to the Funeral Home)

From the first time we met, he immediately impressed me as a man who loved his wife and his family above all else. He was a Vietnam Veteran and a proud American Patriot. I was privileged to spend many wonderful times with him and his family. He was always the happiest when he was surrounded by his loving, doting, wife; his son and loving daughter, and his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. I’ll add that for the last dozen years he was seldom far from his most faithful K 9 companion, Skeeter. They were virtually inseparable. My fondest memories will always be of his gregarious manner and wonderful laugh when he heard a joke that brought a huge laugh from the absolute love of his life, his sweet wife, Thekla. Ray was not an educated man, but a very intelligent man…a very capable man. He knew a LOT about a LOT…and was a very skilled mechanic and carpenter, electrician, plumber, tile installer, and more. Evidence of his skills are on display throughout his beautiful home. Ray was richly blessed by sharing a 63 year love affair with the love of his life, Thekla. Their relationship epitomized the real meaning of commitment. Ray will be missed by everyone who knew him…and I’m privileged to have known him and loved him. Rest In Peace my friend. Thank you for your Service to our Country and thank you for your friendship.
